Dev, having moved to Dubai from Nepal in 2007, joined the film industry in a permanent position with a gear rental company. Here he started as a trainee in the Lighting Department and over the last 15 years, through hard work and dedication, he has worked his way up to Best Boy Lighting and Gaffer. He has learnt from the industries best Gaffers and having access to all lighting equipment on a daily basis has built his knowledge and in depth understanding of lighting. Dev works exceptionally well as part of a team, has good leadership qualities and manages his team accordingly. Fares, born in France, is an extensively skilled and technically astute 1st Camera Assistant, having started his career in France as a Video Operator after studying Cinematography at school and later at Film School in Paris in 2002. Fares enjoys exploring and pushing the boundaries of creativity through ongoing training on new equipment. At the time, Boris also worked at a Berlin tracking vehicle company collecting experience as a camera car driver and crane grip. The position as picture vehicle technician on ‘Bourne Supremacy’ led to international accreditation. The film ‘Syriana’ brought Boris to Dubai where he saw his chance to pursue his dream to join the Grips department. His technical background allowed him to grow quickly and he settled in Dubai. From there he gained extensive experience in all areas of the Grip department, including dolly grip, crane grip, and rigging grip to the remote head technician. His extensive skills make him adept at solving difficult technical problems and allow him to work with confidence on even the most demanding projects. With multiple feature films, television productions, and hundreds of commercials under his belt, Boris’s experience is extensive and invaluable.

He has experience working as a Dolly Grip, Crane Tech, Motor Crane Precision Driver, Remote Head Tech, Best Boy Grip, Rigging Key Grip and Key Grip. His latest projects include Desert Warrior; R10 and Wheel of Time (S2) in Morocco.

Richard has traveled across the world working on feature films, documentaries, and TV commercials.

After several years in production, he decided to pursue his passion in the AD department. Felix has developed a multitude of skills that vary from personal relations to organisation. His goal is to find and deliver stability within his place of employment and be able to be proud of what he contributes.

Ana has only recently relocated to Dubai and joined the ranks of freelancing in the Film Industry here. After completing Bachelor’s degree in Theatre and Film Production and then continuing with an MA degree in Film Production in Croatia. Ana has worked many production profiles on various short films, commercials, and corporates in Croatia. Ana is exceptionally hard-working, loyal, and focused and will soon prove her worth to our local industry. Her work ethics are sound and her willingness to learn makes her so much more than the average Production Co-ordinator.

I have been in the film industry for over 15 years and have adapted different aspects from the trades I have previously been involved in, which allows me to be very versatile. My position as Floor Manager for Grips and Lighting in a gear rental has enhanced my vast knowledge of the working mechanisms of the gear. My background, having been engineering-based, has also allowed for good problem-solving skills. My greatest attributes are knowledge and people skills. I lead the team by example and follow with diligence. I am willing to work as many hours as required to see a project through to the correct conclusion.

The film ‘Syriana’ brought Boris to Dubai where he saw his chance to pursue his dream to join the Grips department. His technical background allowed him to grow quickly and he settled in Dubai. From there he gained extensive experience in all areas of the Grip department, including dolly grip, crane grip, and rigging grip to the remote head technician. His extensive skills make him adept at solving difficult technical problems and allow him to work with confidence on even the most demanding projects. Ian has been working internationally as a Key Grip for over a decade on productions in Dubai, the U.S.A., France, and the U.K., with recent productions including War Machine, Australian Survivor, Star Trek: Beyond, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens. His full repertoire, however, also includes experience as a fixed arm and telescopic crane operator, and remote head and gyro stabilised remote head technician, on both feature film and commercial projects. Ian is well certified, including PADI open water, advanced, nitrox, and sidemount certifications, U.K. and U.A.E. motorcycle licences, and an I.P.A.F. licence, and is also a competent arc and MIG welder.

After completing a degree in Architecture, followed by a course in Cinematography, he followed his dreams to join the Film Industry in Dubai. With training in production, post-production and a background in IT Saul became a Digital Imaging Technician (DIT) in 2011 after attending some of the earliest courses available and started on set in the UK learning from some of the best early adopters of Digital Cinematography with the Red One. Over the years Saul has worked on many forms of production, including TVCs, virals, music promos, episodic TV, corporates, and short and feature films. Having now worked on over 300 television commercials, Saul has gained extensive production experience and broad knowledge of cameras, formats, and digital workflows on a variety of high end, artistic and technical projects with many talented DOPs who have trusted in his diligence, attention to detail, on set flexibility, stamina and his strong relationship with local crew and camera rental houses.
After having spent over 12 years as a Creative Designer, and having qualified professionally as a Graphic Designer, Gareth decided to pursue a career in the Film Industry and is striving to learn the technical side of Filmmaking in the Camera Department. His character traits of integrity, determination, organizational abilities, and people skills, along with a wealth of technical knowledge have allowed him to work in places like Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bangladesh, Saudi, and UAE, where he is currently based.

Nick grew up in London, graduated from Film School in Canada, and started his career in his home, Russia. In 2016 Nick started 1st Assistant Directing and has since worked on hundreds of television commercials, and music videos, done 2 movies as a 2nd AD and 3 movies as a 1st AD. Nick has experience working with different production aspects, including kids, animals, scenes with a massive number of background actors (from 500 to 1000), underwater scenes, u-cranes, dolly cranes, drones, explosions, fires, chasing, and stunts. With the recent instability in Russia, Nick has relocated to the UAE to pursue his career here.
Having dabbled in the Film Industry before studying, it was the obvious choice for Felix when it came to choosing his profession. After several years in production, he decided to pursue his passion in the AD department. Felix has developed a multitude of skills that vary from personal relations to organisation. Hard work, determination, and the ability to take other people’s methods and workflows onboard, and work with them, is a key part of working within a team or leading one. His goal is to find and deliver stability within his place of employment and be able to be proud of what he contributes.
Having graduated from Film School in the Czech Republic in 2013, Eli started her journey in the Camera Department, realising her lifelong dream of action and adventure. After nearly a decade of working on all forms of motion picture, including feature films, tv series, music videos, and television commercials, to name but a few, Eli has become an exceptionally experienced and sought-after 2nd Camera Assistant. She has learnt from the best available and is a reliable team player and handles incredibly well in stressful situations in any terrain. She has worked across Europe and has now set her sights on becoming an accomplished team player as part of our Camera Department in the Middle East.
Roger relocated to the UAE in January 2006. After spending one year as a VT Operator he moved into Clapper Loading and 2nd Camera Assisting and in 2011 dedicated his full time to Focus Pulling. As a popular and well-respected technician, Roger has enjoyed working with the majority of Production Houses in the GCC area as well as having had the honor of working with great international cinematographers and directors.
Leaving finance behind, Reid took to filmmaking. Having started with solo documentaries, and covering some of the most beautiful places around the world with a drone, he relocated to Dubai as a drone camera operator. Since in Dubai he has excelled on various movie sets, TVCs, and other commercial projects. He has gained the expertise, patience, and professionalism that is demanded by the industry. Reid’s keen eye and skilfulness makes him a great asset to any film set.
Born and raised in Portugal, Samuel was drawn into the magic of cinema, at a very young age, through his father. After graduating in Cinema, Television, and Advertising in 2004, he started working as a Camera Department Assistant, moving up the ranks to VT Operator and then into Clapper Loading and later Focus Pulling. By 2011, Samuel realized that he kept being drawn back to his ‘Steadicam Assisting’ days at Film School where he participated in many projects, so he took himself off the US to further deepen his knowledge in the art of operating a Steadicam with Masters such as Garret Brown, Jerry Hollway, Chris Fawcett and many more. He has since participated in International Steadicam workshops and has the latest available gear to himself. He has been working as a dedicated Steadicam Operator since then and on all forms of media; Television Commercials; Feature Films; TV Series; Music Videos and more. Samuel has most recently worked in Egypt, where he worked on several projects including a Netflix series, a Synergy series, and many commercials.
Dragan, a native of Croatia, graduated from Academy for Cinematography in Zagreb and went on to learn about colour fidelity, film, and tv post-production techniques in London. Having been an accomplished Director of Photography for over 15 years now, he has shot many film and television projects. He is highly skilled in light design and has mastered skills like gimbal operating and work based on the gyroscope (wire cam and drone) which he finds practical and fast for many on-set applications today. Dragan has worked across Europe and has most recently worked in KSA on various commercials. Dragan is fluent in English and has an ability to draw people into his creative mindset on set.
Charlie started his training in the Camera Department in 2012 and has steadily learnt and mastered the categories he has been in. He is a keen learner and spends a lot of his down time in the Camera Department working in order to enhance and apply this knowledge to new levels.. Over and above this, he is a bubbly personality and great team player and will always go that extra mile to make things even better.

Mathiew has always had a creative talent and followed his dreams to be part of the Film Industry in 2014 as a trainee in the Camera Department. After spending many years as a VT Operator and learning on set, he made the move into 2nd Camera Assisting with ease.

With over five years of experience as a 2nd Camera Assistant, Roland comes with a wealth of skills and knowledge to the film set. Roland derives his work ethos, as written by Marie Oliver, that work itself is an adventure and to go forwards with extraordinary energy and concentration. Having participated in commercials, dramas, documentaries and music videos. Roland continues to strive for different levels and continues to learn by the day. His enthusiasm is infectious.
Ali is a Lebanese freelance Second Assistant Camera. He has a background in audio-visual studies. Since 2016, Ali has been handling different roles within the film industry, mainly with the camera department. Although Ali enjoys mechanics, after studying Mechanical Engineering at university, he felt an immense need for a space that unleashes his creative skills. Being an active crew member in the film industry gave him the perfect balance between the creative and technical sides of his passion. With his passion, energy, and eagerness to learn, Ali thrives in all shooting environments and proves a valuable contribution to the team and the creative work, including feature films, dramas, music videos, documentaries, and commercials.
John brings a European style of Focus Pulling to the Middle East. Understanding of process and attention to detail makes a huge difference. It means the DP can focus on the creative. Fares enjoys exploring and pushing the boundaries of creativity through ongoing training on new equipment. After working through the ranks in the Camera Department, Joseph has progressed to Focus Pulling and Camera Operating. Equipped with his technical skills, as well as his keen eye for composition and detail, Joseph has become a sought-after Focus Puller in the area. He has proved to be the spine of every DOP. Joseph’s fluency in Arabic, English and French is an asset on teams.

Whilst working permanently for a gear rental house based in Dubai, Jaycee worked his way up to Clapper Loader / 2nd Camera Assistant and then on to becoming a dedicated Focus Puller from 2018. Jaycee is an extremely popular and well-liked crew Focus Puller and brings his knowledge, drive and eagerness to every set he is on.

Equipped with his technical skills, as well as his keen eye for composition and detail, Joseph has become a sought-after Operator in the area. He has proved to be the spine of every DOP. Joseph’s fluency in Arabic, English and French is an asset on teams.
After joining and falling in love with the film industry in 1980, Glen has always followed his passion in Cinematography.

Michael is an underwater Cinematographer with a deep passion for nature and natural history work, from mega fauna to macro critters. Michael has extensive experience filming in remote locations, while freediving, tech diving and on rebreathers. Michael regularly works on TVC’s and feature films and works closely with housing manufacturers to develop new systems.
Tom’s creative eye has been telling underwater stories for the past 20 years in location world wide. The commercials, music videos, documentaries and series have taken him to locations ranging from Alaska to the coasts of the Americas; Croatia and the Mediterranean and Aegaen Seas to the Maldives, Malysia and Philippines.
Tom is now settled in the UAE, and whilst still travelling, his work is concentrated in the waters surrounding the GCC.

Jeremy Connell was born in Johannesburg and matriculated from Jeppe high School for Boys. After completing a diploma in journalism he began work in the media and advertising fields. He spent five years with a leading South african agency before leaving to open his own consultancy. During this time and after he also worked as a lecturer in digital media for a prominent private university before becoming involved in the film industry. The Bourne Legacy is a 2012 American action thriller film directed by Tony Gilroy, and is the fourth installment in the series of films adapted from the Jason Bourne novels originated by Robert Ludlum and continued by Eric Van Lustbader, being preceded by The Bourne Identity (2002), The Bourne Supremacy (2004), and The Bourne Ultimatum (2007). Although this film has the same title as Van Lustbader’s first Bourne novel, The Bourne Legacy, the actual screenplay bears little resemblance to the novel. Unlike the novel, which features Jason Bourne as the principal character, the film centers on black ops agent Aaron Cross (played by Jeremy Renner), an original character. In addition to Renner, the film stars Rachel Weisz and Edward Norton.

Star Trek Beyond is a 2016 American space opera film directed by Justin Lin and written by Simon Pegg and Doug Jung, based on the television series Star Trek created by Gene Roddenberry. It is the thirteenth film in the Star Trek film franchise and the third and final instalment in the reboot series, following Star Trek (2009) and Star Trek Into Darkness (2013). Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto reprise their respective roles as Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock, with Pegg, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, John Cho, and Anton Yelchin reprising their roles from the previous films. This was one of Yelchin’s last films before his death in June 2016. Idris Elba, Sofia Boutella, Joe Taslim, and Lydia Wilson also appear.
Principal photography on the film began on June 25, 2015, in Vancouver,and Squamish, British Columbia, after several delays caused by multiple script rejections. Additional filming locations were Seoul, South Korea, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Principal filming ended on October 15, 2015. In March 2016, production underwent reshoots, with Aghdashloo added to the cast.

Aj Abi Chahine is a multilingual, award-winning POC with a powerful, creative flair. Besides being an accomplished production coordinator and manager, with a portfolio that includes clients such as The Amazing Race (U.S.A.), Shell, Sky TV, Discovery, and Nike, to name only a fraction, and channel experience that includes film, television, and commercial work, Aj has also worked as a V.T.O. and camera assistant, Head of Research and Development, writer, script editor, and more. A P.O.C. by trade and a writer by passion, Aj’s short film The Pillow Case claimed several awards at the 48 Hour Film Festival in Dubai, including Best Film, and has enjoyed screenings at Cannes and Filmapalooza in Hollywood.
An Honours graduate in Cinematography from the S.A. School of Film, Television, and Dramatic Art, James has spent almost two decades exploring and refining an intimate understanding of light and lighting. James prides himself on his ability to create unique and evocative moods bespoke to each composition, imbuing each scene with a specific tonal quality that best helps to bring the director’s vision to life on screen.
